We are the World! Bring a bell! Bendigo Ulumbarra Theatre Sunday 12th November 2017
Concert presented a world repertoire of music and dance, a magnificent blend of traditional styles, ending with Federation and audience bells, 150 performers and the audience celebrated unity: the whole world is here – we are the world!
This unique showcase of a multiplicity of expressions of classical and authentic traditional music and dance, live in concert, included popular Scottish tunes played on a small pipe, Indian Drumming Ceremony, Italian, Russian, sacred hymns and chants in Pali, Persian, Hebrew and Ladino languages, Gospel, Chinese and Filipino choir folk music, Polish and Italian classical and folk music and dance, Turkish Sufi meditative music and dance, rare song lines in authentic Dja Dja Wurrung and Wemba Wemba languages, Greek and Karen folk music and dances, all dances presented in authentic traditional colourful and intricate costumes.
